Steve Leser on
Ayn Rand and the
Objectivist Hoax - Little known information about the origin of the characters in some of
Ayn Rand's most famous books and other odd information about Rand in the wake of the release of the movie based on the book
Atlas Shrugged. Commentary by Steve Leser of
Democrats for
Progress.
S. Lesser did lose me a bit on the "assumed" name thing, but she and her spouse were both leaches, as far as living off of SS.
Ayn Rand's name, shows up in the SS death index (you can use a computer, right?), 1905 -- March 6, 1982.
Her spouse is, Charles Oconnor (no apostrophe), 09.22.1897, 11 1979
You can also find the SS death index online. Google it. The fact that I have only substantiated the S.S. claim (under their real names) does not change that she was a hypocrite. If I find the Medicare proof as well, I will post it.;)
Who is
John Galt? Umm, how about the literary equivalent of Christian from Pilgrim's
Progress used to justify a simplistic
world view that somehow got mistaken for rational thought...
Who is
John Galt?
As the name implies, this is inspired by the character of John Galt, the "hero" of Ayn Rand's
Objectivist doorstopper,
Atlas Shrugged, who destroys civilization to avoid paying taxes. They apparently think this is a good idea, and hope to follow in his footsteps.
In the novel, John Galt declared his opposition to collectivism by starting a, heh, collective called Galt's Gulch. He expressed his opposition to organized labor by organizing (what else?) a strike.
"I am John
Gault (William Hickman)".
